Class schedule

Safety Class for Cycling Educators

September 3, 2021 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Adams School west playground – 1615 SW 35th Street

A practical seminar in hazard avoidance skills for bicycle riding.  We’ll include Quick Stop, Rock Dodge, Instant Turn, and Avoidance Weave along with Scan (shoulder check), signaling, starting and stopping.  These are field experiences the League of American Bicyclists uses as part of Smart Cycling classes.

Come with a bike and helmet to Adams School on Friday, 9/3 at 5:30 pm.  We’ll ride on the west playground.

If you let me know you’re coming, I can bring enough refreshments for you.  To include someone else you think would be good, please invite them.

Evaluation of your skill is optional.  Paired with the content and exam from this link, it qualifies one for a League SmartCycling certificate.

Classes are scheduled primarily through Corvallis Parks and Recreation.  The next camps are planned for summer 2022.

Register for other camps and classes with Parks and Rec by calling (541) 766-6918 or use this link.
